Page 6: Business Magic Starts With the Spell You Cast Before You Open Your Laptop
💼 Let’s get down to business magic! ✨
How to use intention as a business spell, and why it changes everything about how you work
One of my clients was building a new offer. She'd never used the systems before, and the deadline was tight.
When we talked, she said, "I don't know if I'll have enough time to get this done. I'll probably have to work all day and through the night."
I could hear the pressure in her voice, the way she was already resigned to exhaustion before she'd even started, and the sadness that came through was palpable. So I stopped her.
"Say this instead: I have more than enough time to finish what I need to do and what I want to do."
She paused, then said it back to me. And something in her body shifted; I could see it.
She didn't suddenly have more hours in the day. The offer still needed to be built, and the systems were still unfamiliar. But the energy she was about to carry into that work was completely different.
That's the difference between a goal and an intention.
The goal was still there: get the offer live by the deadline. But the intention changed who she was while she worked toward it. She wasn't moving from scarcity and overwhelm anymore. She wasn't operating from "not enough time, not enough skill, not enough of me." She was moving from sufficiency, trust, and the belief that she had what she needed.
And that shift in perspective? That's a spell.
You're Already Casting Spells. You Just Don't Know It.
Most women in business don't realize they're working with energy all day long. Every time you say "I hope this works," you're casting a spell of uncertainty. Every time you post nervously, refresh obsessively, or avoid the follow-up because you're scared, that's a spell too. A spell of doubt.
And when you walk into a meeting already assuming you'll have to prove yourself? You've just set the entire energetic container for that experience before you even opened your mouth.
You are always directing energy. The question is: are you doing it with the right intention?
You can write the post, send the pitch, and show up to the call. But if you're doing all of it from a place of urgency, self-doubt, or desperation, your energy is already working against you. The task itself isn't wrong. The spell and intention you're casting while you do it is.
What a Spell Actually Is (And Why Most Folks Get This Wrong)
A spell doesn’t have to be complicated, and it's not strictly reserved for women with fifteen years of witchcraft experience.
A spell is an energetic instruction. It's a declaration of what you're creating and how you're showing up to meet it.
Most people cast spells accidentally through worry, habitual reactions, and the stories they repeatedly tell themselves. They direct their energy toward worst-case scenarios without realizing it.
But Boss Witches cast spells intentionally.
We decide what we're calling in, align our energy with it, and we act accordingly. And then we trust the process.
In a nutshell, this is what Business Magic is. And it's backed by neuroscience, energetic frequencies, and the lived experience of women, past and present, who've learned to work with their energy rather than against it.
The Part You're Missing: Intention
You already know how to set goals for your work and business.
I want three new clients this month.I want this launch to go well.I want to be heard in that meeting.
But a goal is just an outcome. It's a target sitting out there in the future, disconnected from how you're moving and working through your day.
An intention is different. An intention is how you choose to direct your energy while you work toward that outcome.
I speak clearly and confidently about my work, attracting aligned clients.
I am showing up to this launch from a place of freedom.
The words I speak are true and correct and come from a positive place within.
Can you feel the difference? The goal is what you want to happen. The intention is who you are while it's happening. And when you start operating from that distinction, everything changes.
Because you can take the same action, write the post, send the email, build the offer, but if the energy underneath is aligned with the right intention, the outcome shifts.
This is because you and your energy show up differently when you're not operating from scarcity, doubt, or fear.
Why This Actually Works
Let's talk science for a second.
Your brain has a built-in filter called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). It decides what you notice and what you ignore all day long. When you set an intention and return to it repeatedly, your RAS starts scanning for proof that this way of being is already true.
You notice opportunities you would have missed. You start hearing yourself speak more clearly. You start recognizing when you're slipping back into pressured thinking, and you correct it faster.
This isn't a one-time declaration or a set-it-and-move-on approach to your day and life. This is a practice and a ritual. It’s building a muscle, so that the repeated act of setting intentions that shift your energy becomes second nature.
You're training your nervous system and your mind to enter your work differently. And when you do that consistently, your business starts responding to the frequency you're operating from. And this is the science of neuroplasticity meeting energetic alignment.
What This Looks Like on a Real Day in Business
Meet Marie. She is a fictional composite, someone I created from the real women I work with, but I promise you, parts of her situation will feel familiar and resonate.
She was just hired as VP of Marketing at a multi-million dollar company. She is leading a department of over 30 people, managing a six-million-dollar budget, and she’s spearheading the launch of a new product line, all while learning the platforms, the software, and the people at a brand new organization. On any given morning, before she has even gotten out of bed, she has a full day of staff meetings, leadership meetings, data analysis, strategic planning, and execution already running through her head.
That is a lot. And the way most high-performing women handle that kind of weight is to wake up and go straight into it, phone in their hand, mental list already stacking, all before even leaving the comfort of their bed.
But what if Marie started her day differently?
Here is an example of what Marie can do every day: Before she touches her phone, she takes three deep breaths. She thinks of one thing she is grateful for. Then she says to herself, "My day runs smoothly. I have everything I need to handle every situation that comes my way. I am protected. I am one with the Universe." She lights a candle she keeps beside her bed specifically for this moment, and she sits with the flame. She lets thoughts come. She lets the fire transmute what needs to go.
That is her spell. And it changes everything about how she moves through the rest of her day.
Instead of getting ready for work all rushed and confused, she gets ready with a steady heartbeat and clear head, both thanks to her morning intention practice.
Instead of thinking of all the ways the launch could fail, she thinks of her spell and all of the ways it can succeed smoothly.
Instead of doubting her abilities since she’s new, she thinks of her spell, and knows she can handle what comes her way.
Instead of letting the day’s energy run her and overwhelm her, she took a moment to set an intention and claim her power back. One intention changed everything.
Small Rituals That Anchor the Magic
You don't need a complicated altar or an hour-long practice to make this work. What you need are anchors; small moments that pull you back to the energy you chose.
Light a candle before you start working. Let it signal to your body that you're entering sacred creation mode, not survival mode.
Take a breath with your coffee or tea. Stir it clockwise while you say your intention aloud. (By the way, a coffee ritual is a great way to bring in the intention of speed to a project that you are working on. Think: caffeine = speed.)
Step outside between tasks. Let your feet touch the ground. Let your body remember what being steady and being grounded feels like throughout the day.
Take out the paper with the intention on it, read it once, close your eyes, and let the intention anchor in your thoughts and body.
Carry a small pouch with rosemary in it; take it out when the negative thoughts creep in and inhale its scent. Rosemary has been used for centuries to clear the mind and to bring protection, spiritual awareness, and peace.
These small actions act as a structure that holds your spell in place when the day tries to pull you away.
Over time, this changes how your work feels, and you stop operating under constant pressure, start moving with more ease, and your decisions get clearer. Your entire business and work start reflecting the version of you that you actually want to be.
You're Already Powerful. You Just Need to Direct Your Power.
My client did not finish her project on time because she suddenly had more hours in the day, or because the work got easier. She finished it because she stopped working against herself. She changed the spell she was casting, and that changed everything about how she moved through the work.
That is what intention does. It does not remove the hard parts. It changes who you are while you are moving through them. And when you operate from a different frequency, your business responds. The people you are meant to reach start finding you. The decisions get clearer. The work starts to feel like yours again instead of something you are barely keeping up with.
You are already powerful. You have been directing energy your entire life. The only question is whether you are doing it on purpose.
