💼 Let’s get down to business magic! ✨
There is something you have been holding back. A video you recorded and never posted. A hand you did not raise in the meeting, even though you knew the answer. A proposal sitting in your drafts, an offer you have not spoken about out loud, an idea you have been refining long past the point when it was ready. You have been circling the moment of being seen for a while now, and something keeps pulling you away.
Visibility blocks are common in the business and work world. Most of what you will find on this subject will tell you that visibility blocks come down to fear and self-doubt, and that the solution is to name the fear or doubt, challenge the thought, take a small step, and repeat. That advice is not wrong. It is just incomplete. What it rarely accounts for is the part of you that already knows the thought is just a thought, already knows the offer is ready, already knows you are qualified, and still cannot seem to move. Awareness does not always break the pattern. Sometimes you need something that anchors you, that you can touch and work with.
This is where spellcasting, magic, and Peacock come in.
The Magic & Medicine of Peacock
Peacock has long been a symbol of royalty, power, transformation, resurrection, and good fortune, and has been revered across cultures and centuries as a spirit of sacred presence, divine protection, and a kind of spiritual authority that does not need to announce itself. He carries all of that. And when Peacock shows up in the work I do with women in business, there is one thread that runs through every session, every reading, and every spell he appears in.
He is here to help with visibility.
He appears for the woman who is ready to be seen and needs something to help her open her message for the world.
Every time he shows up for me, the first thing I notice is his beauty. The way he moves, and the certainty in every step. And then the moment his feathers open, that full, unhurried display that commands attention.
The eye-like markings on his feathers have long been understood as protection. And this protection is for anyone who steps into their visibility and protects their energy from envy, criticism, or the energetic weight of being watched. When you call on Peacock, you are calling in the energy of both attention and protection; both can live in the same space.
His deep blues and greens carry the frequency of the Throat Chakra, the energetic center of expression, truth, and communication. When that center is contracted, visibility feels like something you have to work up to, talk yourself into, and then recover from. Peacock moves through that shrinking by reminding you that you were never meant to hold yourself back. Peacock’s call is meant to be heard. Therefore, your voice and your message are meant to be visible.
When Peacock Showed Up for Me
Last year, I sat on launching this Substack for months. I had the content, the structure, and I knew exactly what I wanted to teach. But I kept finding reasons not to hit publish.
After going through a visualization and pulling cards one morning, Peacock energy came through, along with the Sun card. The message was clear: stop hiding what you have already built. It then hit me. I wasn’t waiting for the content to be better, I was waiting to feel safer being seen. Peacock reminded me that safety does not come from hiding in the shadows. Safety comes from standing fully in who you are and trusting that the right people will find you. I launched two weeks later.
I also started working with Peacock energy before making content videos. I am not a natural on camera, and there were always excuses, always one more reason to put it off. But when I began picturing his feathers fanning out behind me, and those protective eyes surrounding my voice and my words, something shifted in a way that never quite did when I’d decide to push through the fear. I made 13 videos in one sitting. That is how this medicine works. It gives the intention somewhere to land, and then the body follows.
A Grimoire Practice: The Peacock Visibility Spell
You will need a mirror (a small or handheld one is best for this), a bay leaf (or piece of paper), and a blue candle.
In visibility work, the mirror reflects your first audience: you. Before you can be seen by anyone else, you have to be willing to see yourself.
The bay leaf carries the energy of written intention–what you write on it, you are setting into motion.
The blue candle activates the Throat Chakra and holds space for your voice to be heard without the weight of fear or self-doubt pressing against it.
When you are ready, set your space, ground yourself (for a quick grounding practice, see the Grounding & Protection section from an earlier post), and take a few slow breaths until you feel settled in your body. Light the blue candle and place the mirror where you can see your own reflection.
On the bay leaf, write what you are ready to be seen for. Speaking up in the meeting, the social media post, sending the email, or proposing the project.
Hold the bay leaf in both hands and close your eyes. Picture Peacock walking toward you. Watch as he turns and stands behind you, then slowly opens his feathers in a full display at your back. Feel those colors surrounding you, deep blues and greens. Feel the protective eyes behind you, covering your voice, your words, and your visibility.
When you feel him with you, open your eyes and look at yourself in the mirror. Say this out loud:
I allow myself to be seen. My voice is protected. What I have to say is worth sharing.
Then burn the bay leaf safely in the candle flame and release it.
